have been wondering why it is that the resolution (specifically on pc input) on most tv's is limited to either 1280x720 or 1920x1080 on bigger screens.
Surely there must be enough pixels to cope with higher resolutions? Otherwise does this mean that standard say 19" pc monitors pack a hell of a lot more pixels per inch than large hdtv's to achieve 1440x900?
I know very little about all this so any explanations would be appreciated.
