Hdtv upgrade

I've just had the same agonising decision to make.

Although it was ony agonising once i'd told the misses to expect a big parcel, lol

I went for a Toshiba 42x3030 which I got for £700 inc delivery to the Isle of Man, a bargain!

Are the LG/ Samsung, ones any good?

Nope, very average.

Put your pennies towards a plasma like the Panasonic PX70 or better the new PX80 42inch set. Best value tvs out there, and the PQ on them is excellent, and the closest to the Pioneer kuro that is the best tv on the market.

Don't bother with 1080p sets (e.g. panasoninc PZ range) unless you sit less than 6ft from a 42inch set, or less than 8ft from a 50inch set. You won't be able to notice a difference.

I have a 32inch Hd tele, thinking of upgrading to 42inch,do you think its worth it? 1080p etc?

I know this is bucking the trend but Id say prob not, atm the tech in tv is getting better and better all the time. Id wait for the OLED stuff unless your really unhappy with your TV.

Well i have a small flat that im selling, and i only sit about 5 feet from my tv, so i dont thinks its worth it at mo on reflection,so ill wait till i get my bigger flat, then upgrade.

got myself a Samsung LE40M87 for £699. Good TV for my PS3, awaits GT5P on friday.

Using a Samsung LE40F86 here.

25000:1 contrast ratio, 100hz, 1080p and all the usual bits. Is a bit pricey compared to other makes but you get what you pay for. The xbox and Wii looks stunning on it. Especially the blacks.
