HDV Camera's

How many compaines are currently making these?

I'm looking at the sony ones at the moment and just wandering if there are any other places I should look.

Its high definition video. As far as I can tell Sony are the leaders atm but other brands are beginning to move in. I think Canon are the latest to produce one in the form of the XL-H1, which doesn't come cheap.

Sony's HVR-A1E is afaik the lowest priced HDV camera at this minute. The only other manufacturers I know of are JVC and Panasonic I think.
