HE discount question

Now, I know the fashionable thing to do is just claim the HE discount regardless of whether you're a student or not, but I'm not in a hurry to do that, so I've a quick question to check whether I'll qualify. I don't care that I could maybe claim it by lying, I'd prefer to do it properly for the good of my conscience.

I'm expecting a bonus in February and am planning to buy an Imac for use at home. My wife has been accepted onto a Masters course which starts in September. Can you qualify for the HE discount on the basis of being accepted onto a course, even if it won't start for a while?

Ta.

Hmm, can't imagine it being a problem since they hardly ever check to any great extent...

I am sure she can, I bought my new iMac when I was confirmed onto my PGCE course. I had to scan an acceptance letter and e-mail it as proof but it was fine.

A letter of acceptance was not enough in my local Apple shop. I had to wait until I'd actually registered for my MA before I was able to get the HE discount and then I took in my student card.

Anyway I'm no longer that impressed with the HE discount as certain online retailers already get close to the discounted price. Thats certainly the case with the Macbook Pro.

The Ts&Cs aren't abundantly clear, as it appears to suggest that being enrolled would be enough. Maybe I'll go in store and ask just to be sure.

Cheers anyway.

Someone will correct me on this but I think you won't get full 3 year warranty if you order using discount instore. I think it is just online/phone orders for HE discount. I remember reading a thread about it. Hopefully someone can clarify.
