head cleaning

Do mini DV camcorders need their heads cleaning these days? I transfered over a miniDV tape via firewire and noticed some corruption in the audio signal near the middle - a dalek effect! I thought the DV was encoded digitally on the tape and wouldnt have such problems? I may be brave and try a cotton bud with eclipse.

get a cleaning tape, if you only clean the heads then dirt from the rollers will get straight back on.

every 2-4 hours of use is reccomended.
