Head tracking for flight/driving sim?

What's currently the best on the market for tracking your head in flight or driving sims besides VR? Is it TrackIR?

For about £15 you can have your own home-made system
The video I made wasn't actually very indicative of my setup. It actually works extremely well.

I'm quite comfortable with working with electronics and soldering, so I might do this until I see a decent price for the TrackIR
