Head Unit Problem

getting ready to sell my 106. went to replace original headunit but i think it was broken. got one off someone at work, also came out of the same generation 106 but was slightly different.

wired up an iso block etc.

it turns on fine, put code in etc works fine.

when you press the button to turn it off, it wont turn on again unless you disconnect and reconnect the earth.

this seems really strange to me, any idea what could be wrong?

maybe so but im not sure its a specific pug problem

just wondered if anyone had any clue as to why it wont turn back on again

If it won't turn back on, have you checked the fuses?

Sorry I didn't see that bit.. I don't know why that is, will have a think though..

well the funny thing is, that if you disconnect and reconnect the earth wire, it works fine until you turn it off

then the same problem wont turn on until you disconnect and reconnect earth. turning ignition off and on doesnt help

You could try running a seperate earth to somewhere behind the dash and see if that makes a difference.
