Good evening,

As one or two of you may know I've just purchased a Nikon D3200 with the intention of becoming a capable amateur :) Whats bought this is on is a recent booking to see some family out in Taiwan so now I have a deadline to get used to the camera.
Now, a chap at work has said to scrap the internet and just get out and play with it. Which I do agree with but I'm still at a loss with it all.

I've done some research, I intend to stick with the kit lens (18-55) with a Hoy UV filter cap although I have considered buying a wide angle lens. I've bought a tripod to help out with the slower shutter speeds that I think might be required.

I will try update with a couple of snaps, hopefully you might spot some improvement :D

Does anybody have any good advice?

Many thanks :)

Well this thread lacked slightly due to just how busy I was before I flew out, I had no real time to get out and play :(

I did however buy a CIR-PL filter which I was really impressed with, a Joby Gorilla pod and a spare battery. Still keeping costs low though.

Anyway, here are a couple of pics I took out there which I'm quite happy with. By all means do critique, would love to hear feed back :)
