i have a fiesta mk6, i went out in it last night and when i put the headlights on the front left (from sitting in the driving seat) is making a weird noise.

It sounds like there is a belt been spun round inside the headlamp unit, when i put my hand on the light i can feel it vibrating.

Anybody heard of this before? When i put the site lights on, no noise, headlights there is this noise, and when i put the big beam on the noise doesnt get anyworse it just stays the same.

there is a 'wheel thing' i can turn to change where they point, three settings 1 2 3. I will try later, but i wouldnt have thought that would be it. The noise started randomly and i didnt touch the settings so the motor wouldnt have been in use?

If you have electrically adjustable beam hight then it's almost certainly this causing the noise/vibration.

But I have seen stranger things, the switch on the stork for my sidelights turned itself into a crude speaker on my 1st car.

You have one of these in your car? :D

As a more useful post, I have had bulbs that make odd squealing noises before, shortly before they fail. Are they separate main/dip lamps in the Fiesta? If so then unplug the dipped lamp and see if the noise stops.
