Hi Guys,

I would really appreciate if someone would recommend a good combo including quality headphones with closed back & condenser microphone for online gaming. I ma using discord but mu current set is making my friends ears bleed due to the random high pitched noises.
I have £200 spend at the moment(I was suggested to but AKg 550 mk2 but the second revision is made in China not Austria), in future I ma thinking of adding DAc or amplifier.

Thanks in advance

Having owned both the DT770 and the 550's, I would do with the 550's.

Don't worry about them being made in China, they are subject the the same QA and warranty and are an excellent all round closed back headphone.

32 will power off a pc fine, 80 depends on your soundcard, I wouldn't bother with the 250 unless you already have a headphone amp.
I am thinking of getting a decent set, so i have planned on purchasing amp as well.

Cheers I think I will go to one of the shops in London to have a look and test both of them.

Bear in mind that the K550 need a good seal, otherwise they will sound anemic. Anyone wearing glasses can rule them out, as that will certainly break the seal.

It may be worth giving the Sony MDR-1A a listen as they are the same kind of price but have extremely soft pleather memory foam pads which provide a seal even when wearing glasses.

Great sound, strong, powerful bass, rich mids and detailed highs that never sound sibilant (unlike the Beyers) - wearing mine as I type this, so yes I am biased :D

To be fair, if I was in the market now for a gaming setup I would just get the Beyerdynamic MMX 300 for £99 on Ebay. It is a bargain.
They seem like a bargain, I wonder why. Looks like on their website warranty is 5 years but on ebay only 2yrs

They are end of life so might have something to so with it. The seller is legit, you could always email their main shop, they have a website. Headphone and mic technology has not moved forwards is years now and they were £250 not long ago.
