Hey,

I'm wondering if anyone can reccomend me a product.

I don;t have a headphone socket on the front of my pc and even if i did it would be too far away to be of any use.

I am looking for a cable of somesort I can plug into my motherboards audio out socket and extend that socket to one i can screw onto my desk a bit closer to me so when i do need to use a set of headphones I can plug them into a 3.5mm audio socket on my desk.

I realise I would need to have a 3.5mm audio splitter coming out of the pc. In the past I have found these when in use to reduce the volume of the sound being outputted. I would also like the sound to not come out of the speakers whilst the headphones are in use.

Anyone able to recommend anything suitable?

Thanks

Neil

Have a look at the pantronics speaker switch (on the rainforest site) that would allow you to have the audio and mic inputs closer to you.

I use mine to switch between my tv audio input and my pc's but it also works well for the intended reason :P. Only issue i had was my 5.1 speakers have all the inputs bound together so the switcher had to be very near one of the inputs.(work around was using another wire instead of the provided front audio wire)

I have a headphone switch by Konig which is similar to the Plantronic one but has volume control too. Cost me no more than £5 if I recall from the same site mentioned above.
