i had a pair of zalman suround headhones which where great but something seems to be up with the wire and the left can cuts out a lot.

I need a new set with a mic, i would idealy like a set that a) fit my huge craneium(?) and b) dont make me sound like ive run a marothan everytime i take a breath.

Please advise :)

Thankyou.

I've had a pair of PC150's for a while and i'd recommend them as a great gaming headset. If you don't need the mike (or use a desktop one), the Sennheiser HD515's are also highly recommended.

Some people like the Medusa surround-sound gaming headsets, but that's more down to personal opinion and the build quality is supposed to be a bit poor on some.

Depends what you're looking for really.

Medusa 5.1's here...

never had a days problem, and i think the build quality was in the earlier ones..

Also i have some Koss phones (headset and mic but not 5.1) they are better in all ways but 5.1 swings it :D

dont bother with the hd 515's, hd 485's are better, and if you want another surround sound headset, get medusa.

the pc150 / 160's are over priced imo.

personally id go for medusa if you want headset, and hd 485 + zalman clip on mic, if you want normal headphones :D

Thanks for the replys, i think ill sort something after xmas, at the moment i can get sound if i have the wire doing a funny loop thingy to pull it a certain way so its definatly that thats gone.

Will have a look on the prices of the Medusa and see if the ol' bank balance can afford the hit. :D

If you dont need a mic, for gaming, take a look at Sennheiser HD280Pros on ebay. They're absolutely brilliant, and cost £65, similar to what you pay for these headsets, yet the RRP is £110 and the sound quality is FAR better.

Ok had a look and there were 2 Medusas (Meduae?) on the OCUK page

SpeedLink Medusa SL-8796 5.1 Home Edition + 5.1 Amplifier

SpeedLink Medusa SL-8793 5.1 ProGamer Edition

Which would people recomend.

And yes i do need a mic for gaming.

Ta

get the home edition, it comes with an amp, which means you get better volume/sound and you plug everything in once (speakers + headphones) and then jsut flick a switch to change between.

look around for the home edition you can get it as low as £55 i think, but its worth the extra for the amp.

Have decided to get a set of the Medusa Mobile 5.1 Headphones with built in 5.1 card running through the USB this should help my desk clutter as i have far too many wires going hither and tither.

Would these be able to stick in my xbox 360? just a rondom thought.

Thanks for the help guys
Zero. :D

Sennheiser HD25 best Headphones in the world unbreakable !

[Build Quality]

The following quote by Headroom concerns the HD 25 SP but holds even more true for the HD 25-1: “Sennheiser has an incredible materials analysis lab; they’ll be digging up the 25SP in junkyards two hundred years hence, and they’ll probably still play.”

The HD 25 is made to last. The build quality is simply top notch. Mine have fallen on the floor at least a dozen of times. There are no sensible joints (please see pictures). Note that almost all parts - ear pads, cable, ear cups, and headband pads - are replaceable.
