Hello guys, currently im using some Corsair Raptors HS40 and i was checking the microphone on the other day and it makes a loud buzzing/humming noise?
I tried changing some settings but no luck, one thing i noticed is that if i put my hand on the case the buzzing noise stops ??
is it ground issues with the pc? i have it on my desk atm

Yeah, sounds like a grounding problem.

I assume you are using a power cable with earth wire/pin, and that is plugging into a mains socket that is earthed?

I am not sure, i know how to check the extension to see if the earth cable is actually on..
should i remove it or leave it on?> thanks

I assume you are using an IEC lead with a moulded plug? If it's got a metal earth prong or pin, then it will be earthed. Any extension lead will earthed as well, unless someone has removed it for some reason. Earthed is what you want; don't remove any earth connections.

What you've experienced is what could happen if there were no earth. Mains will almost certainly be earthed, unless it's a DIY extension socket someone has installed without the earth wire. Highly unlikely if it's been there since the house was built or electrics installed.

It's probably not that though, as in most cases mains, any extension lead being used and IEC lead will be earthed. It's more than likely a grounding issue within the case. Troubleshooting that could be fun.... or not. :p

Didn't release before it was a USB headset; I assume the same happens with front USB as well as those directly on the motherboard?

Sounds like an Earth problem with your Microphone or cable
Try the headset with another pc if you can, see if it still buzzes.
Can you change the cable or is it captive?

I doubt that your pc is unearthed if touching it removes the buzzing.
