My AKG K712PRO that I've had since 2011 have died.
MY knowledge of headphones is zero but I heard that the
Beyerdynamic MMX 330 Pro is quite popular on here.

My budget is about £250 and my pc is used for gaming. I also have the headphones plugged into my Creative Sound Blaster X4 external dac.

I used to have some very expensive Beyer Dynamic in a recording studio and somebody put these in my hands to try and it's the ones I use now:

Very cheap, you happy with them.

Can be had for £199 at the moment and is great for the price tbh, just make sure you get the right version as there's a cheaper "closed back" option that people find very marmite. The H400SE is another cheaper planar option that is great for around the £120 mark, and if you'd like the ability to go wireless the Deva Pro + Wireless DAC combo can be had for £150-180 and is a fantastic bit of kit too.

What are you going to be plugging them into exactly OP? I'm assuming you've a decent headphone amp somewhere in the chain given what you're coming from.

Edit: Just re-read and saw it's an X4, you should be alright still. You'd need a separate microphone but at a guess you already have one anyway.
This them?
