Need a new set of headphones.

£100-150

main use for COD and also listening to music.

will likely use with guitar playing also.

any recommendations?

Mane sure you get the correct one if you go with the Beyer DT. One is 250ohms.

I'd suggest AKG K612pro. Exceptional all rounder and very comfortable. Though they are open backed.

Do you need to block out background noise? If not then definately AKG 702s.

What DAC /soundcard / headphone amp / source are you using? Some headphones require an amp to drive them (or drive them easier)

Sennheiser HD 599 @ £95
Easy to drive, good for music and gaming. Open back. Cheaper than AKG and Beyerdynamic.

But headphones are very subjective - what type of sound signature are you looking for?

open backed isn't an issue, only using them in my man cave.

have no amp currently, happy to purchase a wallet friendly one though

I use my HD600 for everything :)

Same here. I sold my PC37x, they were great for gaming, better than the HD600. But not as good with music, allthough not that far off to be fair.

I sold my PC37x on the bay pretty much as new for £75 so well in the OP budget. For just gaming they are hard to beat.

I got Philips Fidelio X2HR's a while ago... not the best looking and open back but sound great.

Got them with a FiiO Q1ii (2nd Gen) DAC and Headphone Amplifier, nice setup without breaking
the bank.
