I'm looking for a decent pair of full size headphones to replace my Sony MDR-XD200's but would like a headset too.

A pivotable microphone would be perfect, so i can put it in the upright position when just listening to music and then use it when gaming.

Don't really want to spend much more than £30 and would like them to be black/silver.

Any recommendations people? I've bought headphones before that should've been great and then the quality is just awful so i wanna get some real opinions.

Speedlink Medusa Headset @ £13.

Can't fault them at all. I thought they would be cheap and cheerful as a kind of stopgap until i got some expensive ones but never bothered buying the more expensive ones. Bass is good. Mic is a little sensitive but after a few minutes tuning it it's all ready to go. Quality of sound is very good and the workmanship of the set isnt too shabby either.

they look pretty solid, nice to have an inline volume control too.

edit: do you get any warranty we those bad boys?

couldnt be to sure. id guess OcUK would have a retailers warranty if they were faulty from the outset but for 13.99, you cant really complain. if your looking for warranty then these wont be your best bet but still, they are really good. cant ever see anyone using the warranty because they are solid as a rock

I bought some Goldring DR100s a couple of months back and I am well pleased with them. They're £35 here and have been out of stock every time I've looked, so I had to get them from somewhere else, where they cost £30. I had a Speedlink Medusa 5.1 headset before, with its own amp, a nice box, blah blah. The DR100s are a lot better, though they were a bit sibilant to begin with (that disappeared after some use).

The DR100s don't have a microphone, but you can easily buy a seperate clip-on one. What they do have is good sound quality.

On the other hand, they aren't £13.99 :)

This headset is awesome, so comfortable, well built with good mic and excellent headphone sound quality.

I went through 3 pairs of $15 Logitecs in 8/9 months, switched to these in October and I cant fault them one bit. I drop them/ sit on them sometimes when I get up from the computer chair but they're extremely well built and can take it. The logitec headset however always had the same problem that one of the headphones would stop working, I had to tape the wire to the headset/ hold my head in a particular position to get sound out of it.

Speedlink Medusa 5.1 owner here. Have to say they are the best I have ever had. Have the Gamer edition which is a tad more expensive but they are well worth it. I find when playing competitively I can hear things my team mates can't.
