My QC35s have been dropped one time too many and now the BT connectivity is getting unreliable and the batteries are needing charging much more often. Must be at least 7 years old now.

Replacements must be very comfortable and have excellent sound isolation as their prime function is to enable my watching YT/Prime on my iPad without interfering with whatever utter cack Herself is watching on TV and vice versa.

Must be over-ear with closed backs. Wireless preferred, but my budget is “decent, but cheap as possible”.

Cheap as possible
Anker soundcore have a few versions
Bought my other half some
For a flight to Australia
Actually very impressed with them for think
It was around £70
Got myself sony WH-1000XM4 at over triple the price
Yeah sonys are better but for the money
The ankers are really a good budget buy

I tried the Anker soundcore q30 and returned them. They were not comfortable and were a significant step down in audio quality from the wired headphones I'm used to. I'm betting a big step down from QC35s based on the last time I tried those. Reviews were misleading for the Anker sets I think.

I have Philips Fidelio X2HR which I'm really happy with for comfort and sound quality but these are not wireless or closed back...

I got a good deal on AirPods Pro 2 to 'tide me over' until I could find the wireless, over-ear, closed back headphones I wanted for travel, but honestly the AirPods are so good that I've stuck with them and use them at home too. If you're in the Apple ecosystem they are brilliant. Not sure about the Max model, I may change but was hoping for an updated model with new chips and perhaps a better case. They are also really pricey.

You should consider XM4 as above as well, as they are still available and for less then the XM5 so are a good option for more of a budget.

My memory isn't the best
Was either anker sound core 30 or 35
She got
The Sony are great were £250 when I got them
On Bluetooth compared to wired
I notice a big difference in sound quality
Not that Bluetooth is awful
And wired my motherboard has top of the range
Audio components
Which probably explains it
