Safer Cycling and Enforcement Campaign

From 16th October 2006 until November 2006 the City of London Police in partnership with City of London Road Safety Officers will be conducting a Safer Cycling and Enforcement Campaign. Motorists and cyclists failing to comply with the Road Traffic Act will be dealt with robustly, with over 400 fixed penalty tickets were issued during a similar campaign last year. Wrongdoers will be given the opportunity to attend road safety awareness training, with expert advice from the Road Policing Unit and Road Safety Team.

As a cyclist, I'm fully for this and welcome safer cycling.. Now all they have to do is target motorists who continue to use mobile phones while driving and remind them where their indicators are.

Wish they would do Safer cycling push in Brum. I'm seeing more and more people who are getting us cyclists a bad name :( , they seem to think the laws of the road don't apply to them beacuse they're not a car. I'd also like to see more action against motorists who act inconsiderately to cyclists (but I've got so use to this I've almost developed a sixth sense for the imminent occurance now  :( )

Agreed although it does say cyclists and motorists so it's not a which hunt for the cyclist.
