I recently had to send back my Razer Chimaera 2.1 Wireless headset after it developed a fault. I enjoyed the fact that it was wireless, but given that I spent 99% of my time sat less than a meter away from PC, it seems like an unnecessary feature.

I have a refund ready to spend so I thought I would ask the oracles of OCUK for some advice on how to spend it.

So far, I am looking at the SteeSerias Siveria V2

If anyone has a better suggestion then I would seriously consider it.

I have a Turtle Beach DSS headphone amp for virtual surround but I find Stereo is more than adequate for my needs. I wouldn't rule out a 5.1 or 7.1 set, but it is not a deal breaker for me either way.

I use the DSS mostly as a device to pass through audio from my Xbox and my PC so I can use the same headset for both. I don't need a headset that supports comms on Xbox as I don’t use my Xbox online any more. I do do a fair but of MMO playing so a decent mic for PC use would be a strong selling point for me.

It may also be worth noting that I have a massive head. It's a veritable planetoid, so please consider this when making suggestions.

Haha. Too many options.

I like the idea of getting a decent set, but the Siberia is really good value. A friend let me try their Siberia V2 and is light and really comfortable, which is important to me.

I think I will go with the Siberia since I know they will be really comfortable for long sessions and I always find leather style earpads like the ones on the Creative aurvana are a bit hot after a while.

Thanks a lot for the input though everyone. I always appreciate a bit of feedback. Some might call me tight, but I like to make sure I am spending my hard earned cash wisely :)

Thanks Simmz, I did a quick Google search and found them from a highstreet store I wouldn't normally even look at for this type of thing.

I only ever go in there so that I can ask questions about a product and test their knowledge...

"What's a Megapixel?"
"What is Hyper Threading?"

:p

I will seriosuly consider the USB option. I am also aware that you can pick up the Steelseries USB adapter for a few pounds.

Does anyone know if the USB Siberia V2 differs greatly from a regular Siberia V2 attached to the Steelseries USB headphone adapter?
