My headset wire is ripped again. This seems to be the death of every headset I have. Yes I could be more careful but it's generally just the cable getting twisted as I place them down and pick them up over the course of the day.

Does any know of anything to help manage the cable. I've seen the ones that you can wrap the cable around and then unwrap but as I'm up and down from my desk all the time it's not really suitable.

Is there any retractable solutions, like an extendible dog lead, that would increase and decrease in length as I take on and off my headset. Or should I get designing myself.

You could store them in your desk drawer when you're not using them and route the cable into the drawer. That would cut down on wire stretching and tangling.

Or could just get a wireless headset, the Turtle Beach PX3 is decent and has epic battery life. They dont rival the high end wireless headsets from logitech, creative et al in terms of sound quality but they have reasonable sound quality and good comfort.
