I bought a new headset from OCUk recently, The Tt Esports Shock.

My previous headset was the steelseries siberia v1.

When i am talking with people on skype or other VOIP programs everyone on the other end can hear EVERYTHING being played through the earcups.

I doubt its the mic picking up the sound directly from the earcups as apparently it is so clear it sounds as if all my sound is being play directly through the mic also.

I have sent the headset back to OCUK and they where very fast about it but they didnt actually find an issue and said everything was fine.

Since the first time i tried i have reformatted, bought a new CPU, motherboard and RAM and when i received the headset back its doing the exact same thing.

Other things ive tried:

Plugging in the sound jack of my siberias and my mic from my shock headset - the result was fine and no sound heard.

I have tried 2 different on board sound chips and my sound card.

I have been through all settings on both the OS (windows) and my soundcard driver settings.

Ive pretty much done everthing basically and i am pretty experienced with a lot of aspects of computing so like to think i know what to look for xD

Anyway just after some opinions on what it could be tbh.

Thanks for any hellp

If you're using a standard soundcard with realtek drivers, go into the options and click on microphone. At the bottom there will be a slider which says "playback volume"... try muting that.

Also, have you thought you're playing your audio too high? ^^

nah ive had my audio turned right down low also to check.

And the soundcards ive tried are a realtek one (with the settings you suggested) a VIA one (all settings fine) and my creative soundblaster card.

The main reason i know all settings are right is because ive checked them AND ive tried my other headset with the exact same volume, settings etc and its fine.
