Hi all,

Fancy replacing my headset. I'm currently on Sennheiser PC161's I think, I absolutely LOVE them, but they are mega old now, the ear pads have pretty much worn out and they look tired and need replacing.

The only thing I really don't like about this headset, is that they are very open backed, I can hear EVERYTHING in a room I'm in as well as the game. This was a deliberate decision when my kids were so young that I needed to hear them if they cried etc, before they would just come get me if they need me.

Those times are gone and these headphones are terrible in LAN environements. Last time I went to a LAN event I spent most of the time with a headache because the room is SO loud and I had to have my headphones loud just to hear anything in game.

It wasn't until the last day that I decided to wear my Monster Turbines under these just to get a little bit more sound isolation. That was better, but still not ideal so I'm looking to get something that is.

I mainly play FPS games so positional audio is very important to me.

I won't ever use the for Music (unless they are amazing) as I have a set of Technics RP-DJ1200's I can use for that, they are old too, but I love them :) I won't use them for gaming because they get hot to wear after a while.

So yeah that's where I'm at and the budget is up to £250.

Any suggestions please?

I'd looked at the Game ZERO's by Sennheiser, but I'm not sure I want leather ear pads, I REALLY like the velour pads on my current Sennheisers. I'm on voice comms all the time so a good Mic is a must, whether it's attached or not.

Cheers,

Alex

There aren't many closed back sets with Velour pads so I bought some Beyerdynamics DT770 Pro 80ohm limited edition's a FiiO E10K Olympus DAC and an Antilion Mod Mic 5.0 :)

Yolo lol

Out of interest, as I happen to be looking at the same setup as you just bought. What are your thoughts? Good for FPS?

I will let you know. Literally ordered at 11pm last night. Should be arriving today. Won't have the Mic, that's going to be a few days. But I can test the cans with the FiiO and report back :)

Nothing arrived today, despite me signing up for prime, them saying it would arrive today and them also saying it's been delivered. :(

Wow I'm absolutely ******* furious!!!

We have received the update from carrier and they have updated us that Geo-codes showing driver delivered to correct location.

So we are unable to process any concession in this order.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

£300 wasted.

Did they even remember tracking number of packet?
I guess they neither mentioned what geo-code it was...

What does it say in the order details e.g. your orders > track details > view tracking details > "Parcel was delivered as per instructions" or "Your package was delivered to a neighbour Mrs Smith at door 5" or "Parcel was handed to resident to Mr Guru". Examples based on my most recent orders.

As above paid by credit card or PayPal? If so involve them. Also I presume you've chatted to the rainforest on their webchat though? It's unusual they'd shaft you out of £300. And it's on them to provide sufficient tracking details to prove where it's gone.

phone or live chat to Amazon....guaranteed they'll sort it

also make sure they havent left it in some obscure place...delivery driver left a parcel in an old tool shed in the garden that hadn't been used for years once!

As the guys above say, contact Amazon, they're usually very good. Was it Amazon Logistics guys that delivered it? They are terribad, on the same level as Yodel imo.

Contacted them, looks like they will refund.

Shame cause they are limited edition, hope I can still get the same ones after I wait a week for my money back.

If you're on the members market, I am getting rid of some Denon D7100's. I've been gaming with them for ages - they're great!
