Hi there,
So I bought a new headset and plugged it in(USB). Installed the drivers with it, and in device manager everything lists as ok. So I snuggle into them, pop open iTunes and put on some music. Ah! . The sound nearly kills my ears. Its very distorted and I can just make out the music. I fiddled a while and decided to switch them for my old USB headset and its the same kind of sound, distorted and crackling. I unistall everything and start over but still no avail. I managed to find a way to get them work, I have XP Pro Sp2 installed, if I do a repair install with a SP1 Home then it killed pritty much everything but gets the headset to work fine. So I don't know what to do, should I copy over the usb audio driver from home SP1 or is there something blatently obvious im missing?

Turn the output volume down in the windows volume controls to around 1/2 to 2/3 from maximum as max distorts the sound terribly.

Usually sorts distortion problems for me :)
