My Steelseries headset is now on its way out and i'm looking to buy something different.

I mainly play FPS games and have a budget of around £200

Thank you in advance for any help

Sennheiser PC350SE would be a good choice. As much as love OcUK, they are £45 cheaper at some other place. I know they can't be as cheap as said 'other place', but £45 is quite a large difference.

hi, just bought a set of the 350se's and after a bit of tinkering with my sound card i must say they are really good...infact they are very good. I was in the same boat as you a month ago ,same budget was going to get the sennheiser 363d's but after seeing these and at the price i got them for they were at least £80 cheaper than the 363d's. Also the 363d's are aimed at people with no soundcard as they have a usb one. There are lots of headsets to choose from out there and it is a minefield when picking a set but a lot of guys who know there sound equipment would recommend sennheiser as a good choice..

Good choice!

I had a lot of different headphones (cheap and expensive ones), 350, 360 and 363d (I have this but I got rid of the USB thingy after few months and went for a Xonar Essence STX) in my opinion are the best for gaming.

2nd position are Plantronics headphones.

Enjoy!:D

PC 350 here with a real sound card they are superb.

The new steel series Elites look nice though Actually checked them out yesterday didn't get a chance to use them though.

Qpad's cheaper headsets are very good as well. Although they do have the more expensive model, which is rebranded Beyerdynamic, I wasn't too sure if their cheaper offerings were any good. Thatasianguy, has a pair and he rates them quite highly, which is a good recommendation, as he has HD598 and Fidelio X1 headphones as well. Quite possibly the best headset for under £100.

I recently got a set of QPAD QH-90s and they are far more comfortable than my old Steel series 5Hs, have much sharper/clearer sound and an excellent mic.

Very impressive for £80!

Got my self a pair of Sennheiser PC 350 SE using a asus xonar d2x soundcard but find volume not as loud as my old roccat kaves. Would I need a headphone amp soundcard to drive these? make them louder

Yeah, the PC350/SE are 150 Ohm and really could do with a headphone amp to get the best from them. FiiO have a range of headphone amps that are worth considering.

Your headphones have "Impedance 150 Ω", a Xonar essence STX (with high gain 64 -300 Ω) will do a much better job.
You could look as well to something like: Behringer HA-400 (to go cheap and good)

My suggestion: try how they sound first with an amplifier before to invest more money. Sound can be a very subjective thing! And maybe these are just not the headphones for your taste.

Recently bought the Corsair Vengeance 2100 after trying a few other headsets.

Good sounds quality, no complaints for the mic, comfortable. Overall very impressed.
