Headset recommendations for the 360

I think you'd have to be a bit of a tool to use these at full volume on something like rockband tbh.

Well I finally have a set of these and your correct. It goes much louder than I would comfortably play rockband at on headphone.

A great bit of kit, really glad now I went with the wired x1's. I stand a good 8-10 feet from my screen when I play and there is plenty of spare cable.

I like the way you just use it as a pass through on the audio cables so unless your talking you dont need to even hook up the pad connector.

I bought this purely for late night rockband and for £44 minus quidco ;) it's going to be a bargain. My wife also is a very happy bunny.

Plenty loud enough and more than enough bass for me to keep a decent rythum on rockband.

I was worried about even a tiny bit of audio lag that might throw the sound out to what I was seeing but they are faultless.

Thanks for the advice, job done. :)

It's a shame you can't use Dolby Headphone on consoles because that combined with proper headphones blows anyway any "5.1" headset available.

Had first hand experience of 5.1 headsets, just dire compared to my 595's and Dolby Headphone sound card. (DH is 5.1 over a stereo source, works extremely well)

Friend just bought a £150 pair of Trittons or whatever they are called, could not believe it. That's almost the price of my Z-5500 and double the price of my HD595's.

Can see the appeal though, most people review them very highly but there's no decent alternatives on consoles. That and having the microphone integrated is a pretty neat feature.

Edit; Actually I guess an amplifier could do Dolby Headphone so maybe it is possible to use it on consoles, but this would be expensive if it is even possible.
