Hi,

I have an Audigy 4 sound card and want to connect a headset. I already have mt 2.1 stereo speakers plugged into the green Line 1 connection. I need to put my head phones into here. Do I simply move the speakers to another connection, Line Out 2 or 3, and does it matter which one?

I don't think it matters but Line out 2 or 3 probably represents 2.1 to 5.1 outputs so changing what's plugged in where, will affect what sounds or the quality of them you can then hear.

It might be best to stick to the one socket, and get a 2 in 1 adaptor.

Thanks for that.

Would there be any problem with sound coming through both, headset and stereo speakers, at the same time possibly from different sources?

I have now bought a 3.5mm stereo 2 into 1 adapter.

With the adapter in the Line 1 socket and speakers and headset plugged into the adapter, I can only get one speaker and one earphone working. With either of them plugged straight into the Line 1 socket I can have 2 earphones or 2 speakers.

Any advice would be appreciated.

No you can enable various programs (e.g. a game or winamp) at the same time to produce different sounds to different outputs (e.g. Line 1). However Line 1 can't select where its sound comes from, or whether to choose one or another (if that makes anysense).

Yes I realised that once I thought about it. Do you have any response to my post of earlier this evening? 2 speakers, 2 earphones or one of each when using the adapter.
