Headset with no soundcard.

Just wondering would a headset such as this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SP-000-RC work with a PC with no sound card. The reason im asking this is a while ago i got a TB headset that did not work and i think it was because of the sound card as i was getting static noise in the background constantly so since then i have stuck to USB headsets.

Silly idea, but any chance you have it connected wrong?
Or did you connect it on front pannel, there may be some issues there as well.
If none work and sound card doesn't work, best solution would be getting a new one.
There are cheap pcie cards and some nice external ones, connecting via usb.

Did you install your motherboard drivers? Realtek chipsets hiss if their drivers are not installed.
