i've seen a few pictures of peoples desk areas, with headphones held on the wall via a hook/pole that they hang off.

anyone got any links where i can buy one?

it's just like a small black pole about 3-4 inches long, that they hang off.

You mean something like what I have for my headset in the picture below?

If so, it's similar to this:

It's just a brushed steel robe hanger/doorstop...try googling it and I'm sure you'll find something similar.

Mine only cost a couple of quid from a local hardware store.
