Ok guys i went for the asus xonar d2x 7.1 sound card, now the question is which headset razer caracharias or the corsair hs1a?

I haven't used the Caracharias so I can't compare the 2 but I'm very happy with the HS1As. I'm using the Xonar DG and it's a big step up from onboard imo.

I'm no audiphile though so hopefully someone who is who has tried both can answer for you. :)

I have used the razors but not the corsairs.

It is a good headset but I think it's over priced and I did have to get another headset.. It works and all the rest of it it's just the fact it can't adjust small enough so it sits on top of my ears making it uncomfy

I replaced mine with the cheaper sibera v2 shock horror.. And to be honest I think it's better than the razor Caracharias.. In a number of ways its more comfable, it actually sounds better also, partially for music and I'm not the only one to say that.

All 3 are good headsets but some are better than others

And I've owned the Razer and a lot of others (albeit not the HS1As), and I would say that by a large margin they are the best headset I have ever owned; comfortable, great adjustability, excellent mic and sound quality is probably the best I've heard in a headset.

I got the Razer's when they were a bit cheaper, and like a few others they're the best headset I've used in terms of sound quality. In terms of SQ, they're somewhere between the Goldring DR100 my brother owns and my DR150 and Senn HD280Pro.
I wouldn't bother with the PC headsets, they're either extortionately priced or don't sound great.

not true pc 360s are quality if you have the hardware to do them justice have a read of the following posts on them from owners

I never said the PC360s were bad, but they're overpriced, especially in terms of RRP. No way NEAR worth the RRP at all compared to other headphones available; all these do is add a boom mic and you can do that to other headphones, in some cases officially, in all cases with a little DIY.
I'm using an external DAC/headphone amp, so I'm not oblivious to the benefits good sound kit provides.
