Ok update i got http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SP-007-CS&groupid=702&catid=1058&subcat=1719

And they are terrible! Theres a constant static sound playing in the background, when playing music its great and the sound is amazing but the fact the static sound is always there is retarded.

Say im just browsing with my headset i will have to mute them or its constant static noise :\

I had the gamescom 780s before this and they were ok and never had this noise when nothing was playing so its not my PC its defo these headphones!

So they going back Monday and i need to get another set, ive read up on these http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SP-104-LG

But ive read when using skype it mutes game sound which will be really irritating :\

Honestly im so ****ed off atm i need a headset.

I paid £65 for these and i love them they are comfy and stuff and the sound is great its just that silly static noise and the LEDs do not turn off when the pc is off.

Anyone recommend a pair around £70?

okok first thing to do is to take a breather!!

ill put it straight with you..

you've used 7.1, so you really do want to go for a 7.1 headset..

the thing is do you want a 'true 7.1' or multi drivers, this you would have to read up about.

for the £35-40 range, hands down its going to be the Plantronics 780's.. for the price they do offer great quality. I've got a pair atm and they have just broke and I was considering getting the corsair ones you got but I think ill pass now *__*!

from my opinion, since I've used the 780's and to be fair its hard to find something at the same price with the same quality. And, therefore I suggest you save that little bitter extra and get something will a little more quality.

Corsair Vengeance 1500V2 Dolby 7.1 Gaming Headset
Asus Orion Pro ROG 7.1 Gaming Headset
Razer Kraken 7.1

these are what I would recommend tbf :3

The problem with wireless is that for it to be any good, it has to cost considerably more than wired. Unless you absolutely must have wireless, I'd avoid it.

Setting up my headphones??

I know this isnt sound city but that place is empty and therefore i wont get any help so please leave this here.

Ok.

Ive already had 4 pairs of headsets this month lol.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Corsair Vengeance 1500V2 Dolby 7.1 Gaming Headset (CA-9011124-EU) £79.99
1 x Razer Kraken Pro Analog Gaming Headset - Black £69.95
1 x Plantronics GameCom 780 7.1 Surround Sound USB Gaming Headset £39.95
1 x Creative Fatal1ty HS-800 Gaming Headset £28.99
Total : £230.28 (includes shipping : £9.50).

First the Creative lab ones were great, good price and good quality, most comfortable headset of the lot!

Second the Gamescom were good too but hurt my head, apart from that the only issue was making sure the software enabled the 7.1.

Corsair ones were bad, hurt my head and static all the time, they were USB the same as the gamescom which is weird as the gamescom had no static at all.

Razer ones have to be the worst pair. The razer software crashes all the time for me but works fine for my mate which is why im here now.

This pair is analog too but has loads of static.

Im not sure if its my motherboard or not now.

I have the ASUS P8Z77-V motherboard and its been great up until now.

But now im getting static with what ever i plug in and even think its coming through my speakers now too but not as bad?

Ive booked a Drs appointment to get my ears checked lol as i know my ears crackle if the sound is too loud but its getting static noise even on low volume?

Im so ****ed off and really want to get another head set sorted! I will send these razers back if i cant fix it soon and just get another Creative pair :\.

Any tips?

Im busy trying to refresh all my sound crap to defaults but realtek is a pile of crap.

I still dunno why the razer software crashes? it wont install unless i disable my AV either but it crashes and wont open again until i reinstall it, all this is with my AV still disabled.

Im so confused, i dont wanna do a full restore, thats my last option.

Also i cant change the BIOS on the motherboard as i have a custom one. I dont think this is the problem as they have only started after my Gamescom headset.

Ive wiped all other software and cleaned the registry.

Any tips?

Wow i asked for it to remain in general? Nice one MOD! :\

Well suppose ill look elsewhere for help, THANKS STULID!

All my sets were wired, ive heard bad things about wireless and my bro has a pair od Astros which he doesnt recommend and he paid over £250!

From what I can gather, you have tried two USB headsets and two analogue ones; and you had static issue with one USB headset and one analogue, the other USB and analogue headset worked fine, sound wise. That's pretty inconsistent. USB headsets need drivers, so I can understand why one might work and other not, but I would expect both analogue headsets to work fine, or neither. Assuming the headsets in question have no fault.

If using a headset does cause some ear trouble for you, then going to see your doctor is a wise move. It may be certain headsets are aggravating it and not others. I don't know likely that is, but it's certainly worth getting your ears checked and see if there is a problem.

Yeah thats right, i think ive solved half the problem, but there still is a slight whoosh sound when nothing is playing and im idle on desktop.

If i press mute the sound goes away and i get a pop sound when i press mute?

I think the crackling earlier on could be to my ears and the bass, these krakens have far too much base! But the sound is nice and they are reasonably comfortable.

The main thing now is this quiet whoosh noise i get when im idle, its nowhere near as bad as before but its still there, only the corsair had a similar problem and the mic is disabled while i get this noise.

If i plug my phone ear plugs i get no noise at all so its defo the headset and not the PC.

Do you get the same noise if you plug the headset into your phone, or any other audio output, TV for eg?

If it is the headset, should be there regardless of what it's connected to. Just curious, and it would be good to rule out any problem with the PC completely.
