back on the 12th of october i had a non urgent phone appointment at my doctor, the 12th was also my birthday, got sent to hospital.

i ended up staying in hospital that night (go birthday)

does any one else have heart failure? also if so how do you cope with it? (dont mention meds)

apparently mine is caused by drinking to much, i stopped vaping as well before going to hospital and i never took any thing with me so i was stuck with no phone and nothing to look at while having extreme restless legs :(

i was stuck in there for 8 days, initial doctor lassie said it would only be a night, had her and a few others around me while i was puking the next day :P

Er.. No words of any help amte. But rest up and hope you get better asap

thanks, second night got a lot better when my covid test came back clean and they let my mum come and drop of stuff, got my note 8 and my newly hacked 3ds plus cloths etc ended up watching south park on free wifi :)

on the 3rd day i got the heart diagnosis and thanks to been autistic i got my own room with a on suite shower and toilet and a free tv :D

i kept telling the pretty nurses i missed my cats :p none of them cuddled me though lol

cardiologist says no exercise for me now and deffo not allowed any cycling for months now :(

cheers guys, yeh i was drinking silly amounts, every second night or so around 3 or 4, 2 litre bottles of cider and some times binges that went on through out the next day.

there is hope the heart muscle can recover a bit but ill be on meds the rest of my life.

hoping i can get out on my bike at the start of the year :)

really changed what i eat now as well.

Best of luck to you! My uncle had a heart attack in his mid thirties to over smoking, drinking , drugs etc. He's into his 60s now after taking cycling up once he got sorted on his meds and worked up to it with ligher exercise.

thanks that is very reassuring :)

yeh i have stopped the drinking and vaping the liver is a bit fatty but other than that nothing major with it.

definatly made massive life style changes especially with diet etc.

got diagnosed after a echo cardiogram.

thanks for the well wishes guys :)

So I used to work for a company the does/did the finance for OCUK and I suffered so much stress, I ended up in hospital. After scans it turns out I only have an ejection fraction of 16, which is severely life limiting. I was told to rest for at least a month, but was pressured into going back after two weeks of being in hospital and a day at home. When I got back to work, I was barely able to walk from the car park to the building but it didn't stop my boss from giving me a verbal warning about taking over two weeks off on the sick. Apparently I should plan these things better.

Needless to say I am out of there now and doing a lot better. I still get tired at the end of the day, but I don't feel like I am going to die walking 100m and I don't feel like hanging myself every day.

I am 42 now and on warfarin and a whole host of medication. Having diabetes doesn't help, but if you can make some life changes now, it will help in the long run.

wow that is rough, the boss sounds like a right ****, glad you got out of that and are doing better.

thanks for the heart felt response dampdog :)

other than cycling i was lifting dumb bells before as well, i would come in from cycling and do some lifting before my shower and while my legs were recovering i would use the weights.

i have screwed up tonight and drank a bit but much less than usual, i accidentally came across 2 cider bottles which were left over from my birthday and from seeing them there i struggled all evening and now i feel guilty as i drank them and now im crying for doing so :(

thank you guys for the support and advice, yep it is congestive heart failure that i have, in hospital i actually lost over a stone in fluids in about 3 days.

i have zero intention of bringing any drink into the house which will remove a lot of temptation like when i came across some the other night, really dissapointed in myself.

been buying loads of cheap games to keep my mind of stuff and been doing stuff with rc model cars, once the pandemic allows we can take the cars out somewhere instead of just the garden and outside house also wanting out on the bike once im allowed to :)

lol aye 7 meds a day got my normal 3 tabs antidepressant and gout etc then the new ones also found out i have diabetes type 2 as well when i was in hospital.
