Heat an issue?

I have the rig as in sig, the CPU sits at 3.15GHz at about 55-60degrees and the 8800GT sits at 700MHz core, 900MHz memory 1750MHz shaders. I use a big Zalman cooler, and 4GB of RAM

Now, I built this in the winter, but as air temps are rising, the fans in my case, which are all temperature probe linked are starting to get louder, so doing more work. Am I better off living with the noise, or down-clocking the components?

Was thinking more along the lines of longer term stability, I am nowhere near the overclock that some Q6600s go to, in fact, mine will go to 3.4GHz top speed, but then the fan noise is kinda wearing.

CoreTemp shows the CPU at between 35-45 degrees C at idle, but up to 62 degrees C when running multithreaded video encoding or heavy gaming stuff. Is this okay?

No problem with those temps so long as you can live with the noise.

My watercooled rig runs at 60 degrees under prime95 small tft and I don't have an issue with that running 24/7

So only turn down the overclock if the noise gets too much or luck at swapping to a TT or TRUE with a silent fan.
