Heat damage to screen?

I use my M1530 regularly for video editing - both at work (when I get spare minutes.. or hours at the moment) and at home. When at work, if I need to render I usually just set it to go, close the lid and either put it under my desk or just leave it to the side.

My worry is that it's obviously working at almost full throttle (cpu and hdd) and so generating a fair amount of heat. When I open the lid the area where your left palm would rest is slightly warmer than if it was kept open - now this I'm not too bothered about as I'm pretty sure it's nowhere near it's maximum operating temperature, but my worry is that the top left of the screen is obviously almost flush to this when closed.

So my question is, do I risk damage to the screen itself if left in contact with this warm surface too often?

I used to work for Dell and never came across any issues like this.

You might want to update your warranty though!!
