Hi guys, recently my Gfx card temps have gone near 78*C and i even got BSOD. i changed the air flow of case because cpu temps were getting high.

This is my case

Got 1 80mm fan blowing in and 2x80mm side fans blowing in

90mm blowing out on the back and Tagan sucking and blowing.

now this set up cools my gfx card and they run fine, temps 68*C load

but my cpu temps go up by 4*C

if i change the air flow of side fan to suck, then cpu temp drops but gfx goes up silly.

what to do? any ideas?

CPU cool is Ninja with 120mm 1800RPM

I have a water cooled comp now. When i didnt i just used to take the side case off tho my graphics cards used to get up to 90oC playin bf2 but never got any error messages tho

Gpus can go up to 120 degrees before they even begin to throttle.
And your cpu will shut down if it gets too hot. So you shouldn't be getting a bsod from high gpu or cpu temps. 78 for a gpu is nothing really.

Run some stress tests, try running rthdribl and let the gpu cook a bit and see if that causes a bsod, same for the cpu using something like sp2004. Then try both together, to see if perhaps its a psu issue. See if you can narrow down whats causing the bsod.

CPU is fine as temp have been upto 68 without issues.

TBH all these problems started when i got the 2nd 6800 and put in sli.

aslo when gfx card gets hot, the graphic is game gets messed up like little spikes on grass and stuff.

i have had few geforce over the years and they dont like the heat like ATI

Run rthdribl for a while and see what happens. All nvidia gpus are fine up to 100+ as far as i know.
Geforce is just a brand name, the gpus have changed enormously over the years, you can't say all geforce branded gpus don't like heat, its simply incorrect.
I've had an nvidia gpu running at 90 before with no issues at all, the latest 8800s run well into the 80s with no problems.

I reckon its more likely to be a power issue, although it could be the ram on the graphics cards or something else overheating.

If rthdribl crashes it with two cards, try one.

Hey, thats a nice lookin software.

with the current air flow (side fans blowing in) i have no issues and cards stay cool. been playing hl2 and used that software u said and 3dmark06.

but since side fans blow in cpu temps are little higher.

i migh try and turn them off and see if i can strike a balance.

cheers

It could be worse you could have the coolermaster wavemaster like me. This thing is awful at cooling. when playing BF2142 you can almost fry an egg on the side panel, hence having to take the side panel off.

two side fans sucking out air will disrupt the airflow, robbing the fan on the heatsink of air. i've never been impressed with sidefans tbh. if you really want to sort the temps out, get a better case :/

The temps went up when i got Ninja, i think because its so big and takes up space in case. The 2x6800 getting hot with side fans sucking air but cpu cooler so i have bought 2 Accelero X1 Graphics card cooler for £25 to cool them. Saw a review and it should allow me to OC the cards and get less noise.

Gonna switch the fans back to sucking air out and see how the new Accelero X1 Graphics card cooler does.

oh, i was doing orthos to check cpu temp and noticed temps went to 68*C with side fans blowing in, so i increased the speed of the 120mm fan on the ninja but it didnt make a difference so i really do think its best if side fans suck out hot air from case
