Hi,
i was just playing GRID and got the NV_4 diplay drivers error with my 9600GT, the thing is that i didn't get this error all day while i was playing GRID.
Most of the day my room has been faily cold and i've had the fans turned up on my computer. Now i forgot to turn up the fans and my room is a lot hotter(Dads home and like a hot house) and i got about 45mins of gaming then it bluescreened with the NV_4 diplay drivers error.
Is it possible that it's heat causing this problem? I'm starting to think it is.

Can you monitor temps from riva, gpuz or anything else similar? This would give a good indication if you could let us know what temps you hit under load.

Or you could run Furmark http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/ and see how hot your card gets under load using the stability test option.

that futuremark only got it to 42Degrees which is about the max my CPU gets to, but doesn't seem hot.
Might have to buy new just after christmas.

Is there any chance the stock cooler is not fitted to the Vram correctly? maybe not making a good contact so then it's still reading the 40 degrees where the sensor is but then somewere else it's getting too hot?
apart from heat i think it's maybe dead

Good idea, could be Vram or voltage regulators. depending on the card they may have a sensor which isn't used but is present on those components. I know Everest can detect the temps if the sensors are present so that might be worth a shot.

Also, are you using BETA drivers and is it just Grid that's crashing?

It says it's the NV_4 Disp has gone into an infinite loop, which from what i've seen elsewere is video memory i think.
the only game i have on my computer currently is GRID so don't know about other games. but no other programs have done it.
