Heat required!

Hi motors

Can anyone suggest a reasonably cheap and reliable heat source for helping to free reluctant fasteners and bushes?

I tried using a decorating butane torch, which I was able to adjust to give a nice hottish looking blue flame, but as soon as I turned it on it's side for access (I was working in a wheel arch) it went out!

I know that oxyacetylene will do the job, but I'm after something smallish, not too dear and simple.

Works well. The other thing to invest in if you're doing suspension work is an impact wrench. They're worth their weight in gold

Thanks this looks just the job, but it also looks identical to the decorating one that I have, except mine doesn't have auto ignition.

Maybe mine was low in gas, hence conking out in its side.

Anyway, this one says it says it can be used at any angle and £30 sounds reasonable. There's a Toolstation very nearby too

Mapp gas is what you want in a small compact space. Bright yellow canisters. It got exhaust hangers hot enough that I could bend them with a pair of mole grips.
