heat sink retention frames

good afternoon all

heat sink retention frames

do these come with the heatsink or with the motherboard ?

reason i ask, i sold my old m2n sli board on ebay 2 weeks ago and the bloke who bought it off me has just mailed me asking if i have this part.

i still have the heatsink and fan that were on the mobo ( blue orb 2 ) and this has a retention frame, im assuming this came as part of the orb fan and heatsink

The plastic AM2 frame part comes with the board.

now if i had my thermaltake blue orb fitted would that part come off ?
i bought my system from cyberpower you see so it was built for me
and to be honest when i replaced the board 3 weeks ago i never saw that

yes it does get taken off

You can buy the frames for about a fiver (or maybe see if OcUK have any kicking around). The other option is to use a cooler that doesn't need one. So either post the eBay guy your cooler or some cash to buy the bracket.
