My FBDIMMS are kingston server items and come with metal heatspreaders.

atm i am running them with a Corsair dominator fan.

they have a buffer chip which is slightly raised i cant find anything suitable anywere. They are hitting 72 Degrees under gaming and will burn your fingers if you touch them i know there designed to do that but in a server chassis with much higher airflow.

Does anyone know of any sufficient heatspreaders or i may even entertain watercooling and add a third loop to my system as this stuff cost me an arm and a leg and i dont want it to combust or anything.

Any help appreciated.

I've spent so long staring at the second pic that I can't remember the question.

not sure if you can just about see the buffer chip is raised abover the other ram chips.

FB-DIMM's are notorious for running very very hot, so I wouldn't worry about it.

i know that but even in the HP blades i have at work they dont run this hot.

Ive got everything else running cool this is the last thing to sort there must be something i can fit to these to cool them better than the stock stuff they come with.

We use them in our machines.. They do run flipping hot.. I did see some heatspreaders somewhere... Also keep an eye out for the HyperX FB Dimms... ;) They have a nice cooling system...

i have seen the hyperx stuff but my work supplier couldnt find the part number + i bet its well expensive.

Ive found a thread on XS which may have my answers have to wait for a reply from a german fellow.
