Apologies for clueless question. Any help appreciated.

I have to change the heater cartridge on my Creality CR10 V3. All the products I'm seeing for sale do not come with the white connecter to allow it to plug into my printer board. So I need to change the connecter from the old to the new wire. I'm clueless as to how to do this correctly. I pulled the wire out of the white plastic clip and there is a metal thing at the end. What is this called? Can it be removed from the wire and put on the new wire? Or, do I need to get new ones? What kind of tools do I need? Thanks again for any help. Can't seem to upload image

You have a couple of choices here. You can either cut the wire off the old heater and the new, then solder the two together thus giving you the old connector on the new heater cartridge, or you can crimp a new connector on to the new cartridge.
Do you have a picture of the old connector? I can probably identify it from a picture and tell you what to buy. You'll need a crimp tool but which one will depend on what the connector is.
