Hello all,
Got two problems with this pile of **** car. Its a 1999 nissan micra. 3 door
Basically both windows have an issue with the mechanism its a manual one. when i wind them down the window doesnt move and the mechanism just goes down. Ive had it open put it back on tried again, had no luck any adivce?

Second issue is that the blowers (technical wording) have very little blowing power and even on full wack its basically nothing, and they also do not blow out hot air even on the highest setting, i can hear the fan spinning and blowing, changing speeds etc. just no air comes out of vents. Also when the blowers use to work. the heat would come out, but out of the middle two vents they were always cold.

Hopefuly you can make sense of my gobble tee goop.
Any advice would be very grateful.
Thanks Sam

Please fully star out all swearing in future. Thank you.

The first one simply sounds like the bottom of the window is not correctly engaged with the window regulator. There is a metal channel that should be attached to the bottom of the window, and within this channel plastic wheels run which are attached to the operating arm.

The fan issue is possibly caused by a blocked up pollen filter, if your car is fitted with one (does it have air conditioning?)

Okay i have opened this up many of times and re attached the the glass between the plastic bits. Just every time i open the window the window stays and the mechanism goes down.

I am unsure? Quite the noob on car business really.

for the blower have you had the pollen filter changed? if not change it while you at it you can clean out the leaves and twigs

Okay ill have a look do you know where i would be able to find the pollen filter?
Will it be a whole dash removal?

Somethings comes out but its very faint, even on full, and yes old cold air comes out, never gets hot.
ok,
Weak airflow = check pollen filter if ok then it sounds like something is obstructing the air duct or leaves/debris blocking the heater matrix.

No hot air = blocked heater matrix, dodgy heater matrix inlet valve or thermostat, or low coolant level.

Okay thanks, the weak airflow has been like it for a while, just kinda delt with it really.
And the heating really only just went when i turned the dial to cold, it made an awful sound and sounds like it got stuck on cold, could even just be the dial isnt turning properly. I will have a look on the weekend.
Thanks guys

Ah before i do are all the things that you listed behind the dash board area? or are they going to be under the bonnet?

air duct - engine side, sucks air in through a grill to the heater matrix - should be easy to find and get into.

coolant level - can be checked at the radiator - with cold engine open coolant top up cap and check the level.

thermostat - on the engine near the water pump - to test you need to work out which is the outlet hose going to the heater matrix. then run engine until temp needle is at its nromal position and feel the outlet hose to see if its cold or warm.

pollen filter - should be accessible from under the dash but might be a pain to get to - you'll have to google for specific location in your micra (Haynes manual will tell you for sure)

heater matrix - is the biggest PITA as it goes from engine compartment to the passenger compartment and usually requires the dashboard to be removed to get to. You 'might' be able to see/reach it via the air duct.

As always a Haynes manual is your best friend with DIY car repair...

should be somewhere under the n/s or center console access from the back its a removable panel eather clipped or screwed. dash might have to google that one. also check the vents in front of the windshield for debris.

your hot cold flap linkage fell off this is an awkward job you have to remove heater control panel and possably get your self wedged upside down in the foot well. if not then your matrix is ****ed this could mean you have to remove many dash panels
