One of my friends from a hi-fi forum came down for the weekend and we popped to the Heathrow show yesterday. Excellent day. The crowds were much lower than Bristol, the exhibitors were without exception very nice to chat with, and there was some great kit to listen to. I put my thoughts up here:

Post the event, was interesting to compare with my own system.
Good and bad news really. The bad news is that my own system appears to be lacking in subtle nuances and low level detail. The good news is that is has control and dynamics that easily outperform a lot of very expensive kit that we heard. My guess is that it's my front end not really pulling it's weight. So the Consenance Droplet might well be up for a home dem in the near future. Here's a pic:

Personally I didn't like the looks of it, thinking that it's completely over the top. Really did sound good though. Very laid back, relaxing, plenty of detail. Could be a good un'.
