Heathrow total shutdown

Next thing Sky will be thinking "BA" stands for this guy:

Info on BBC live, if anyone knows anyone involved might be helpful.

Being pedantic... it's funny how the part from the BBC you posted said "..are adding more seats to their trains" and then says actually they are simply running two more trains. Would think it's rather difficult to add more seats to a train at no notice :D Good old BBC.

Does make you wonder, how reliant on one sub station LHR is?!

Well I am going to take a wild guess here and say - extremely reliant - seeing as the whole place has been shut all day.

Ridiculous situation - critical infrastructure seemingly without any credible back -up plans vulnerable to the loss of one sub-station.

Here we are at 4pm and counting and the dear old National Grid are currently "working to get a 2nd back-up generator on line" .

Flights to resume with the aim of a full schedule tomorrow.
Focus today is on repatriating planes/travellers who have been diverted to other parts of Europe and re-positioning planes ready for tomorrow.

What they need are more pylons. Gotta see a Miliband.

Is flammable oil the only coolant available in this technological age?
