Flying abroad in a few days via Heathrow to Hongkong on my own and just wondering if i can get Heathrow assisstance to guide from Terminal 5 to Terminal 3 as i will be arriving at Heathrow with BA.

Just worried i'm lost on my own and i missed my flight as well :(

Thanks

Don't worry it really is a lot easier than you think. The first time I flew was on my own and at Heathrow, the directions was really easy to follow and there are loads of staff who will always help should you get to worried.

Why would you need assistance exactly ?

It's not as if it's not signposted in english & many other languages. And there are literally thousands of employees there that you could approach and ask a question. Failing that, why not just ask someone who doesn't look too stressed.

Im sure you can but surely it would be just as easy to follow the massive signposts yourself. and if you've left adequate time between flights you'll be fine.

Just follow the signs, get the bus/train whatever method you need and you'll get to the next terminal. The did you buy flights seperate or together? As there should be enough time from one to another and they will transfer your bags unless you arranged the flight to Heathrow yourself.

So is it easy enough to get around there then?

Is it a bus or underground to take from Terminal 5 to Terminal 3?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure there is a shuttle bus transfer between the different terminals. Terminal 5 is quite far away from the others. Have you looked on BAA heathrows website?

Take the Heathrow Express from T5 --> T3 as its free. Bus will take too long, and Underground you have to pay for.

T5 is a nice building, still doesn't beat Terminal 1 at HKIA though.

Jeez if you think its hard finding your way around the terminals then imagine trying to taxi a 85 ton plane around the Heathrow taxiways! :D As has been said its actually very simple to get around Heathrow, lots of big yellow signs everywhere. You'll have to get the bus over to Terminal 5 but again its free and easy to do.

Bus or train to get to terminal 5 from 3. But as some have said the train is way cooler, quicker and better :)

Seriously stop fretting it is stupidly easy to get around the airport, you might not have been there but its absolutly nothing to worry about. Just make sure you arrive at the airport a few hours before you depart.

You're off to Hong Kong alone but cannot navigate an airport?

Actually, to stop you sounding like a complete ****, once I was needing to get from Heathrow to Gatwick and there were multiple coach locations.

There was no indication of which stop to wait at other than a number, walking around with little time left I asked at the Ticket Info desk in which she point across the hall to a numbered sign. "That stop there sir, every 15mins (or 30mins?)" anyway...
I waited till it became unbearably close to missing my flight if I didn't leave NOW and asked some more staff around me, is this the stop for the express to gatwick? They all said yes.
So, even after asking staff involved multiple times, they all directed me to the completly wrong ******* coach terminal. Missed my flight, took one next morning luckily for 24quid. Ah, good times.

That being said though, inter-airport bus/train is so much easier as everything is sign posted.

Also I believe Heathrow was being worked on at the time, so I can't be blamed for lack of signs and ***** temporary path diversions and staff who don't know what they are talking about. It's all so easy these days.

I'm going to have the same problem on sunday. I'm flying from Heathrow and I haven't flown in over 16 years, and back then I was a kid, so I just followed my parents. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous about the whole 'airport' experience. Especially as it's going to be involving various other airports in asia too.

So lay off the harsh comments! :p
