Heating failure

Oil fired central heating
I have been away on hols form three weeks, come back to zero degrees and seems that the heating isn't working.
Nothing is frozen.
The control unit and thermostats are reacting normally, but the boiler is doing nothing, not a peep, no noise, not even a start-up fire.
Pushing the big red reset button doesn't do anything, I recall having to press it once before and it giving a satisfying click prior to firing up, not even a click from it, absolutely nothing.

Anything I can try before calling a plumber/heating engineer?

Would appear to be a faulty thermostat on the main unit, when I press and hold the reset it fires, and keep holding long enough the whole unit fires up, but unfortunately, when released the unit shuts down again.

Have you got oil in the tank?

Yes plenty of oil, seems to be a thermostat issue on the boiler burner unit, hopefully get it replaced later.

Boiler thermostat replaced, and now things are heating up again Thank goodness.
Tiss a bit cold otherwise.
