Dipped my to into AIO water cooling. It lasted 2 weeks ,now i want out. My corsair h75 strugles to keep my 3600x under 80deg . I know its a pidly little 120 rad and i should have gon for a 240 but it was probably a blessing in disguise as i am all done with water. What i want to know is what are the best high end air coolers for zen 2 . Considering a decent 240 aio is over £100 i am sure air is better value as well?

Depending on case size there are many great air coolers for half the price of AIOs and cool better and are quieter. I have a Thermalright Macho Rev B on my 2700x and its seriously the best cooler ive ever owned, silly quiet and my cpu never goes above 60c.

For start £43 Scythe Mugen 5 would be in overkill category for 3600X with only step behind the best performance.

Would take really high end waterpipe cooler to beat it in continuous load.
As in slim 240 rads getting kicked to ground and walked over in cooling per noise.

Also instead of marketing hype Scythe spent money into actual design quality and took care of usual high end cooler complaint reasons.
It has full quad channel DIMM compatibility for basically any heatspreader height, excellent PCIe slot clearance and 154.5mm height fits into almost any case.

I agree Mugen is good choice. I also suggest looking at Alpenfohn Matterhorn for £33.95 and £2.99 for AM4 mount. There is a higher retail priced Matterhorn Black **B Grade** for £26.99 which is even better deal .. plut £2.99 for AM4 mount
