Hello,

Can anyone tell me the size of the O rings for a Heatkiller 3.0 waterblock?

heatkiller3.jpg

I managed to buy a cheap Heatkiller 3.0, and i'm trying to get it working. The screws on the back had been stripped, so I had to drill those out. I also had to straighten the mounting brackets. However, when I opened the block, there were no o rings inside.

I've been trying to guess what the o rings are myself and, after ordering a few o rings that didn't fit, I thought someone here on overclockers could tell me.

O ring sizes that don't fit:

47mm x 1.5mm for the big one
22 x 1.5mm for the inner one

The thickness of the big one is definitely 1.5mm, but the inner one is thinner. It's probably 1mm (but i'm just guessing).

P.S: The O rings are circular, not heaxagonal or anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Does it have the distribution plate inside it? if not then you could probably get away without the inner smaller o-ring.

Where are you based?

It does have the distribution plate. I took these pictures from google images. In fact, my one looks a little worse than this. There's more oxidation on it which doesn't want to budge, even after the tomato ketchup trick.

My other waterblock is a Koolance 350. I wanted to know the outer diameter one, so I went to 3 different hardware stores. None of them had what I wanted. They don't seem to stock ones with a 1.5mm thickness.

I'm based in Southend.

Does anyone have this waterblock? Surely someone does, and replaces the O-rings every now and then?

I don't see why anyone would ever replace a o ting in a cpu block.

How cheap did you get this?

Have you tried emailing watercool to see if they can supply you the correct one rings?

Personally seems like a lot of hassle considering prices of used blocks that are fully working.

I only got it for £5. It's the full copper version too.

If I know the O ring size, I can have this block for ages. I can just keep replacing the O rings.

I'll give heatkiller and email and see what they say. They have a phone number, but it looks like an international call (probably Germany) so i'll use that as a last resort.

I know ek can supply spares but even after spending loads of blocks they wouldn't just help a loyal customer out and we're asking a lot of money for a single part.

Hopefully watercool are more helpful.

I would go down to your local motor factor and see if you can match one up?most motor factors have a selection of O rings in stock

Hello,

I sent a message to Heatkiller customer support. Truthfully, I wasn't expecting a reply since they sell Heatkiller 3.0 o rings as a spare part (with £20 postage to the UK!).

However, I received a reply about 2 days later:

Hello,

you will need the following o-rings:

48x1,5 NBR 70
22x1 NBR 70

They are available as spare part. You will find them here -> http://shop.watercool.de/epages/WatercooleK.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/WatercooleK/Products/79250
