Hi,

Does anyone know if the AC Freezer 64 will fit the AM3 socket ?

It's the first one not the pro, i've read that the pro will fit so im presuming this will too ? just want to make sure as it will save me approx £20

or is the freezer 64 pants in comparison to the newer ones ?

Thanks guys

Yeah, the AC Freezer 64 is fine on AM3. I can't imagine it's particularly worse than the 7 Pro, but give it a go and see if it works. You can always replace it if it's not good enough.

That said, I'm not sure it's worth upgrading to AM3 from your build. What's your budget?

Although its not running games too badly, it feels like my 460 is held back by the older components and i thought upgrading to AM3 for under £250 would be a good upgrade ? and i know i could sell my older parts off to pay half of that.

I dont really have a budget, just want some extra juice without going crazy on the spend, what would you suggest ?

These are what i had in mind
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition - £97.99
Asus M5A88-V EVO - £91.99
Corsair XMS3 4GB - £26.99
