Hi
new to the forum :)
i dont know if this is the best place to post :/

i have an amd 965 and an Asus M4N68T-M LE V2 mobo.

ive installed the processor and RAM to the motherboard. i then installed the heatsink but it can only face away for the graphics card or into the graphics card. not into the the ram slots like it should.

i dont know if this will make a difference but im fairly sure it shouldnt be like this...

any advice on the orientation or if this is the only way?

thanks

you've got it the right way ;) amd boards are crud like that, only way around this issue is buying a decent cooler system that replaces the amd tabs for it's own fitting plates ;)

Yeh I just bought the Akasa Venom cooler and I have to mount mine that way aswell. I'm not complaining because I have a 220mm exhaust directly above it.

As i've an older style case the PSU fan is pretty close so it sucks it all out. Im playing with running it fanless to see what happens temp wise

i wouldn't recommended running that cooler without a fan, while better than a stock cooler, i doubt it would be sufficient in cooling it without a fan :)

Sorry for digging this up but i did find as you said seraph it wasnt happy, fans back on on its lowest speed running perfectly now
