Heatsink for Non O/C e6600

What's the quietest heatsink to replace the retail heatsink on a E6600, system is a HTPC so priority is sound then cost.

I take it the cooler needs to be low profile to fit in your HTPC

nope, it's in a standard atx case.

Idea is to change cpu cooling, then case fans then finally psu to achieve as near to silent as possible

What case is it,and budget?

think it's a cosmos, the focus needs to be on silence rather than cooling potential, running a e6600 with a passive gfx card, so shouldn't be mega heat build up.

Cost, ideally £20 or less, but can do more if it makes a big difference.

If you have good airflow in your case, you could get something like the Scyth Ninja or the Thermolab Baram and run it with no fan.

Cost more than £20, but both are very good coolers.

one of these Akasa AK-967 V2 Nero Direct Contact Heatpipe CPU Cooler if its good enough for all the upper end overclockers bundles then it will certainly do what you want it too.

or Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 CPU Cooler if the above one it too expensive for you, as this is used on the lower end overclockers bundles.
