Heatsink question

Hi all.

I bought myself a new fan / heatsink combo to replace my old noisy one.

However, on the bottom of the heatsink, thermal paste has already been applied. Should this be removed, since I am re-applying thermal paste on the CPU anyway ?

Clean the CPU surface off.

Use the pre-applied paste on the cooler.
